While scrolling through Pinterest I came across this awesome activity that you can have the children engaged in. The original idea for this might be completely different then my personal representation. Having the children all painting their hand print onto a piece of cardboard and then displaying it in this way can bring a sense of community and belonging to your classroom. Have the children brainstorm words that they feel represents them as a group or as individual and what makes a great classroom. By adding these words to your display you can document the children’s views on community.

This is also a great way to introduce the concept that no matter our ethnic backgrounds, family history or developmental stages inside we are all the same. Which is what the white hand prints endorse a unified feeling of belonging.

This room documentation is also a good way to display a part of how does learning happen for our families. It adds a very natural feel and would look great in any classroom!
